I'm not much of a writer. But I do enjoy sharing what I know, what I like, what I discover, and what I wish for. I love exploring. I love to find new route home, backroads, remote towns and mom and pop stores. I am always looking out for resturants, hole in the wall cafe's, ethnic markets, and second hand stores. I love vintage bags, vintage plates and kitchen wares and old record players. I recently purchased an old radio for $9 at an antique store in Sellwood. My eyes caught on to this old radio that only plays AM stations. As I little girl, I had a radio that was my own. I didn't have a fancy bed, desk or anything particulary my own. But this radio was mine. After turning off the light at night, I would turn this radio on to KFI and listen to talk radio. On certain nights, I would catch KGO, a San Francisco news radio station...and as I lay in bed in southern California, I would think about people in SF. Why SF traffic news on Bay Bridge or what was happening in Oakland facinated me, I don't know. I became a closet talk radio listener from an early age because of this garage sale junk item I got to buy on my own. I used to write names of boys that I had a big crush on, on the bottom of this radio. As I walked down the isles of this antique store, I had a flashback of my little radio. I brought this home and my daughter immediately wanted it for her room. She somehow likes old things like me. No one else even gave it a glance. I love estate sales. I want to take pictures of things that I like... (but not necessarily purchase it) but just document it here. When I discover something new, I want a place to record it and share with others. My husband is worried that this blog site will be all about him. I told him that my life is so much more than just him. :)
